This is a beautiful, highly detailed, vintage Art Deco to 1950s estate cruciform cross pendant or scapular medal of St Joseph, St Christopher and Miraculous Mary. It has an old sull work block letter sterling marking on the back underneath a deeply incised infinity maker mark inside a hexagon. Both the front and the back are heavily decorated with raised oval figures, fancy IHM mark on back and devotional prayers. Size is 1 1/16" north to south including the tiny bail by 1" wide across east to west. It has one fingernail indent mark on the back from age. Only on the back and does not show when worn. Other than this it is in excellent overall condition. Just add a chain and you will have a lovely ornate cruciform necklace for your antique and vintage religious jewelry collection or use for a rosary dangle or a fob.

It is marked sterling and guaranteed solid sterling silver. The back has the devotional 12 stars, 2 raised sacred heart and immaculate heart as well as the M below a cross. These are all deeply symbolic elements from a vision of the Virgin Mary experienced by French nun Saint Catherine Labouré in 1830. This came from an older estate and is in excellent condition. No dents or dings or tears or repair. The center of the back curves in so it will securely hold your finger when adding to a chain. All original and never altered. Hasn't been recently polished.
