Vintage Rome Italy Catacomb Callisto Rosary Catholic L Size Large
From the catacombes in Rome, Italy this is a large older vintage relic rosary in a large size with large seeds, a metal and wood relic crucifix that is hinged and opens, a metal Miraculous Mary connector, early opalescent glass beads, and a 1954 Pope Pius medal. The crucifix still has some of the original caked dirt remains from the catacombes. The rosary itself looks Art Deco and could be from the 30s or 40s having had the medal attached to it later in the 1950s. It came from a one family estate and was kept in excellent condition all these years. One seed has a thin age split on the grain but is still strongly intact. The metal has not been cleaned in many decades so it has tarnish and age patina. It is excellent, gently used. All original. Total size is large and long 42″. Size of just the crucifix is 1 3/4″ tall. The seed beads are 11mm to 13mm each. The opal glass are 7mm each. This is a lovely heirloom estate rosary of the Roman Catacombes for your religious collection.
