Large Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Amorphic Modernist Pin Onyx - Very big showy late mid century 1970s lapel brooch. Size is 3.25" by 1.5" across the top center (outer curve to end point on opposite side). It holds an oval cut black onyx stone that is quite large at 20mm long. The onyx has 1 very tiny abrasion about 1mm. Overall condition of entire pin is excellent, gently used. From an estate and in original condition having no alteration or repair. This is a very big, showy lapel pin for your mid century jewelry collection and the amorphic design is highly noticeable as mid century modernist.

1960s Danish Modern Large Rose Quartz Pin Brooch by mid century Scandinavian artist/designer NE Niels Erik From in sterling silver and rose quartz. As with much of From’s minimalist artistic work during this time frame the pin is concave bowl shaped which makes the large bezel set rose quartz stone visibly open yet deep set. Size is 1 3/4″ by 1 1/8″. The large 25mm by 14mm rose quartz stone is pale pink color with silvery rutilated lines inside the stone. Other than surface age scratches to the sterling it is in excellent condition. No cracks or chips or abrasions to the stone. No dents or dings. Never repaired or altered. All original condition. It is marked 1/20th 12K Gold Filled on Silver, DO, Sterling, Ernest Steiner and is in original, excellent condition. On one side is an orchid in full bloom white the other side has unbloomed orchids. The dangle on the bottom hook has a small circle upon which a lady's watch or other dangle can be attached. It is from an estate and is in excellent, very gently used condition. All of the gold filled in intact, no wear to the gold. No dents or dings. No repair of alteration. All original. Back has decades of aged patina that has not been polished out. Also, tested and guaranteed solid sterling.....not plated or filled. Size is 3 1/8" north to south including the top bail by 1 7/8" wide east to west across the outstretched arms. The top bail is quite large with a 10mm opening to accommodate a big, thick chain up to 8mm or 9mm and the crucifix will float freely. The father is adorned with a halo of sparkly rhinestones while the rest of the crucifix is well detail with deep recesses throughout. Condition is excellent, very gently used. All of the stones are well matched and still bright and clear. This is a lovely trinity crucifix for any occasion.

Vintage Florenza Pin Brooch Black Glass Cab Faux Pearls - Lovely brooch from an old jewelry store estate this is a gorgeous mid century Florenza black glass cabochon brooch with a strong antique finish to the heavy gold plating. The cabochon measures about 25mm long. As many collectors of these old Florenza and Goldette pieces know oftentimes it is either unmarked or the marking is more often underneath that thick gold finish. They were so heavily plated that oftentimes the markings were buried under the gold plating and heavy finish. Florenza was well known for its mid century cameo and art glass jewelry. This piece has very fancy filigree with tiny cut work on the gold edges. Very intricate and well detailed. Beautiful, perfect no wear condition. No wear to the antiqued gold finish. No filigree damage etc…. The faux pearls are 2mm and the faux emerald rhinestone accents are about 5mm each. Size of brooch north to south is 2 1/4″ north south by 2 1/8″ east west. Locking clasp is strong and works well. This is a lovely old addition of vintage mid century Florenza jewelry for your collection.

Spotting Florenza Jewelry
One of the easiest ways of spotting Florenza jewelry is to look for the trademark stamp on the jewelry piece. Most of the jewelry they produced has the word Florenza in script or print followed by the copyright mark. Some of the pieces will have the name Florenza in script and circled while other will have the name printed within a square or rectangle. The actual location of the mark depended on the size of the jewelry as well as its design.
However, Kasoff started using the mark only after he discovered that he could claim original design rights. This means that some of the original Kasoff designed jewelry are not marked with the Florenza name but are still prized by collectors because of the intricate and high quality design and finish.
Another reason why some of the Florenza jewelry pieces do not have the mark is because they are part of a set. In such cases, only the bracelet or necklace was stamped with the mark and not the earring or the stud. Apart from this, some of the jewelry produced by Kasoff was not marked for unknown reasons. Some collectors speculate that particular designs were purchased totally by a specific wholesaler who marketed it under their own brand name.
As a rule Florenza jewelry have most of the features described here. Most Florenza jewelry had stones set in Tiffany style.This means that there will be multiple faux prongs or clasps surrounding the stones. Moreover, the unsigned pieces should have the same texture, clasps, links, and clips as found in the signed pieces.
While many costume jewelry manufacturers used some of the same techniques, if you find an unsigned piece that closely resembles the signed Florenza lines, then it is more likely to be a Florenza original.
Antique Jewelry Looks
Florenza jewelry pieces are distinctive for their antique looks and resemble Victorian and Renaissance jewelry.
Florenza Jewelry was initially designed by Daniel Kasoff whose original name was Kosovsky. He started off his career in the garment industry and it was chance that gave him an entry into the costume jewelry business. He was out dining when someone stole his coat. Mr. Speier was also in the same restaurant and paid him for a replacement coat. Kasoff repaid Speier the amount as soon as he was able, and Speier, impressed with his honesty offered him a job in Speier Costume Jewelry Co.
There, Kasoff was able to gain experience in various aspects of the business and ten years later he branched out. He set up Kaywin Novelty New York in the 1930s along with Marty Weiner. He then set up his own costume jewelry company called The Dan Kasoff Company using savings he had accumulated by then.
Emphasis on Quality
Florenza jewelry placed emphasis on quality and fine finish. This is what made marks such as Estee Lauder and Revlon choose to use their products and designs.
Legacy Dan’s son Larry Kasoff continued to carry on the legacy of his father and the Florenza jewelry line was produced until 1981. Larry Kasoff was planning a new line of jewelry at that time when he was severely injured in an automobile accident. This forced him to shut shop and Florenza jewelry is no longer produced.

The body is silver metal with a small silver over copper applied shell decoration. Size is 3" long east to west by 1 1/8" wide north to south. The head body connection is a little loose from age but still secure. No spinning or coming apart. Just a little loose...Other than this the condition is excellent. It has strongly detailed carving, is all handmade with its original Victorian C Clasp is still intact. The silver is still good, not worn down. Vintage Taxco Mexican Sterling Silver Amethyst Cross Pendant - This is a well made mid century hand crafted Taxco Mexico sterling silver cross pendant with amethyst and green onyx cabochon stones. It is marked Hecho en Mexico, DF, 925 circle mark with maker MM in the center. It also has a right facing #1 eagle marking. It is beautifully crafted with crimped gemstone settings much in the style of MATL jewelry and has an oxidized background finish. It also had fancy notches around the perimeter as you would see in hand crafted millgraining. Size is 2 3/8" tall north to south by 1 1/2" wide east to west. The oval top loop will hold 3mm chaining. With the top loop the pendant measures 2 1/2" tall. Weight is 10.2 grams. Condition is excellent, minimal age wear. Never altered or repaired. All original, estate found condition. A lovely addition for your vintage mid century and/or Mexican silver jewelry collection.

It guaranteed solid sterling silver and is in original, unaltered, excellent condition. Size is 2 1/4" east to west by 2 1/8" north to south. Weight is 20.4 grams. All of the facial detail and headwear are deeply recessed and well formed. The back is also very well made with a locking clasp that stays in place and won't open as well as a large round bale that will hold 3.5mm to 4mm thick chaining for a showier dangling look. It has minimal age wear. Never altered or repaired. In excellent condition this is a lovely addition for your vintage mid century and/or Mexican jewelry collection!!

3 Old Vintage Butterscotch Bakelite Bangle Bracelet Group -Simichrome tested and Guaranteed to be old 1940s to 1950s original bakelite this is a group of 3 butterscotch bangle bracelets with the center bangle being carved. Two are 3/16" wide across the top and one is 5/16" wide across the top. All are 3/16" thickness/deep. The inside open space of 2 are about 2 1/2" across with one being 2 9/16" across in diameter. Outside edge circumference is 9.5" around. Inside circumference is just about 7.5". Should fit most hand sizes. Weight of all 3 combined is 29.6 grams. It is very old manufacturer stock from a jeweler's estate and in excellent overall condition. A lovely addition for any true vintage bakelite collection!

Antique Victorian 14K Gold Stone Cameo Pendant Necklace Lavaliere - This is an antique Victorian late 1800s hardstone cameo pendant necklace lavaliere. It has a marked vintage 14K chain. The pendant is solid 10K yellow gold. Both pieces have jeweler testing and are Guaranteed solid 14K and 10K gold. Size is 19.5" long with the chain measuring 18" and the pendant measuring 1.5". The pendant its original Victorian hinged bale along with raised fancy hand applied leaf accents and fancy beaded edging. The cameo is very, very finely detailed with fancy hair, dress blouse, and a nicely carved profile. She is highly detailed and if you examine her with a loupe you can see that she is fine quality and very, very pretty. The pendant back has an old, old solder joint where the loop attaches to the bale. The hinge works well. There is a line on each side where the bezel meets the undermount. This is from the original goldsmith/hand crafting. The stone cameo is excellent. No cracks or chips. No abrasions. Nice early, fine example. The 10K gold pendant is solid and excellent. No dents or dings or tears. The chaining is fine. It is a delicate rope about 1mm and seems to hold the pendant quite well. This is a lovely antique cameo lavaliere necklace for your antique Victorian gold jewelry collection.

5 Pairs Vintage Marbled Green Kiwi Lime Bakelite Pierced Post Earrings - This is a group of tested and guaranteed bakelite earrings in marbled green kiwi lime color and large 1.18" size. They are from the 1970s to 1980s and have a lacquer finish. So, in order to test them properly we cut one extra earring and were able to smell the burnt electronic smell associated with bakelite. We also simichrome tested the inside. Additionally, the earring charred but did not melt when placed over fire. They are a lovely light medium kiwi lime green color with yellow marbling, somewhat more muted baeklite color than the photo could capture. Unknown if they were ever drilled. They have strong and securely glued backs with silverplated covers and posts and stainless butterfly catches. Any glue marks you may see in the enlarged photos are not eye noticeable when the earrings are worn on the ear. All are in excellent, condition. Old store stock from an establishment in business from the 1960s to 2005 and were stored away for decades. Lovely group of 10 pieces of vintage bakelite for you and yours! We also simichrome tested the inside. Additionally, the earring charred but did not melt when placed over fire. They are deep cherry red color, much truer red than the photo could capture. Unknown if they were ever drilled. They have strong and securely glued backs with silverplated covers and posts and stainless butterfly catches. Any glue marks you may see in the enlarged photos are not eye noticeable when the earrings are worn on the ear. All are in excellent, condition. Old store stock from an establishment in business from the 1960s to 2005 and were stored away for decades. Lovely group of 10 pieces of vintage bakelite for you and yours! Group of 7 PAIRS of old store stock 1970s to 1980s vintage blown glass enameled Murano bead stud earrings, pierced post with butterfly backs. They have a pretty multi color mix of red, yellow and black colors. Each earring is showy and noticeable at 9mm to 10mm size. They have silverplated posts with stainless butterfly backs. Any glue marks you see on the backs in the enlarged photos are not visible when the earrings are worn. Unknown if they are drilled but they do have back covers on the beads that are glued and secure. Never used and in like new condition. They are from the estate of a mid century jewelry store. Store in operation from 1960s to 2005 and these were stored in basement for decades. 1980 Mid Century Modernist 14K Gold Opal Swirl Ring Size 6.25
1980 Mid Century Modernist 14K Gold Opal Swirl Ring Size 6.25 - Vintage mid century 1980s jeweler estate ring originally used for display. It is marked 14K, tested and guaranteed solid 14K YELLOW GOLD. Their is minor edge wear inside the band on the edge where it was filed for testing. Other than this it is in original, crisp, clean, excellent condition. All original. No damage or repair. All good stones. The top has a late mid century swirl design which spirals outward with the opals. Just the top measures 1/2" north to south by 7/16" east to west. Height above the finger line is 1/4" from the finger to the top stone which is a little higher in the setting than the smaller stones given the design. The opal cabochons around the outer section are 2mm each and the center opal cab is 5mm by 3mm. All are pale blue milky white with neon pinks, reds, greens, aquas, blues etc.... The natural blue color is very, very pretty and all colors can be seen best in the last photos which were taken with lighting or flash. Ring size is 6.25. Weight is 2.9 grams. Overall excellent condition. No damage or repair. This is a lovely ring for your fine jewelry collection and good for every day use.

Signed Trifari with crown. From the estate of a jeweler who manufactured and distributed jewelry for various costume houses such as Goldette, Florenza, Trifari, Hollycraft etc...in the 1960s to 1990s. This piece is heavy Yellow Gold Plated/Tone with a fancy mix of finishes. The large swirls have fancy brushed 1960s Florentined finish while the front tip of each swirl end is finished in plain yellow gold that merges with the brushed gold. An unusual look with a pretty effect on this pin. The center holds a circle of faux pearls that gradually extend outward in a random manner. Size is large at 2.62" long east to west by 2.18" tall north to south on the wider side. This piece was only used for display if ever; it is in great original excellent condition. NO GOLD WEAR. No damage or repair. All original. Never altered. A lovely vintage fashion accessory and a good example of mid century modernist statement jewelry for your vintage costume collection. The chaining is very heavily gold plated, and heavy duty quality. Will hold a larger, heavier pendant than this lavaliere. Total size is 18.5". Size of lavalier is 1" north to south by .75" east to wear. The chain alone is 17.5" long. This chain is very bright, shiny gold plated and looks like the day it was originally made. No wear at all. This is a gorgeous pair of old 1960s to 1970s mid century vintage hinged screwback earrings with very ornately detailed Egyptian Revival fronts with and a dangle wrapping of multiple silver chains. Old store stock from an old jewelry store in beautiful store display condition. They are very heavily silverplated and have a dark antique finish in the grooves. Size of each earring is 2.25 inches tall north to south. Condition is like new. No wear marks at all. No wear to silver. Better than photos this is a beautiful, pair of very showy, older vintage Egyptian Revival earrings in wonderful condition for your collection!! The screwbacks are strong and work well.
