Antique 1900-1910 Edwardian Art Nouveau Czech Amethyst Molded Glass Stickpin Hatpin Jabot Stick Pin
Antique 1900-1910 Edwardian Art Nouveau Czech Amethyst Molded Glass Stickpin Hatpin Jabot Stick Pin
Large antique Edwardian Art Nouveau molded amethyst Bohemian Czech glass large button style stickpin with a rose cut black jet glass center. Size is 3 5/8" tall from top of amethyst glass head down to pin point. The glass head measures just about 1 1/2" across in diameter. The molded amethyst glass has an intricate, multi-layered geometric pattern, giving it a textured look. It also has delicate bead accents around the border and faux-pierced details around the center stone in order to mimicking the fine metal work of the Edwardian era. The center holds a round rose cut black jet glass paste stone indicative of its age and also made of original Czech art glass. The pin itself is hand crafted with the rod being deeply set into the head; if you hold it to the light you can see that the rod goes very deep into the glass. The rod has a little sway but does not come out? Possibly intended by the maker so it could be used on thick overcoat without any chance of breaking the rod off the amethyst glass. Or it has come a little loose over the years. When the rod is pulled, it is still very strongly attached. You can see the rod was originally set into the glass with jeweler's bench cement which was made primarily from natural flake shellac. This cement was prevalent among jewelers during the Edwardian era as it would strongly hold the item and waterproof it at the same time and it is still used today. It is all original and has not been altered or modified. The glass head is in excellent overall condition. No gauges, cracks, chips or breaks. The metal rod is also excellent but has some age wear. This is a gorgeous example of early Czech art glass for your antique jewelry and stickpin, hat pin, jabot collection.

Mid Century 1950s Modernist Atterberg for Upsala Eckeby Swedish Modern Striped Tray Earthtones Nevada 8 3/4" Wall Hanging Scandinavian
Mid Century 1950s Modernist Atterberg for Upsala Eckeby Swedish Modern Striped Tray Earthtones Nevada 8 3/4″ Wall Hanging Scandinavian
Designed by Ingrid Atterberg, leading designer for Upsala Eckeby, this is a lovely hand crafted earthenware tray in showy contrasting earth colored striped hand glazing. This Swedish modern striped effect was initiated by Atterberg in 1949 and carried into the 1950s whereupon she designed many products for Upsala Eckeby using this motif which has been referred to as "Nevada" given the comparison to the earthy colors of the Nevada landscape. This personal hand tray is a lovely example of Atterberg's work and beautifully depicts the milk white to deep brown to golden striping that she is known for. It is from an estate where it has not been used in many years. Size is 8 3/4" wide across east to west by 6 3/4" north to south. Depth/height is 1/2". It could be used as a wall hanging to enhance your mid century decor. Also looks fine on a desk, accent table, vanity etc....It has one glaze flake on the very edge toward the underside which is quite small and measures about 1/8". This flake does not interfere with the earthenware structure which is fine and has no chips or flakes. We took an enlarged photos so you could see it clearly. Other than this the tray is in excellent overall condition. No cracks or chips. No breaks No repair. A lovely example of mid century Scandinavian artistry by a well known sculptural artist for your modernism collection. About: Ingrid Magdalena Atterberg-Göransson (b. 1920 - d. 2008) was a celebrated epitome of illustrious Swedish ceramic design of the 20th century and a leading designer for Upsala Ekeby in the 1950s and 1960s. Atterberg is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design. In 1944, she was employed at Upsala Ekeby, where appreciation for her works as a ceramicist continued to grow over the years. She was known for using 'manganese clay' in the 1940s and chamotte in the 1950s, and successfully developed her own glazes. In the late 1940s, her own collection called "Ekeby Verkstad" was born with a numbered series that began at 100. During her career, Atterberg had several exhibitions and received a gold medal for her work in Italy as well as completing a number of public commissions.

Mexican Margot de Taxco Rodriguez Sterling Silver And Onyx 3" Shoulder Duster Dangle Earrings
Mexican Margot de Taxco Rodriguez Sterling Silver And Onyx 3″ Shoulder Duster Dangle Earrings
This is a very long pair of vintage 1970s-1980s Taxco, Mexican Sterling Silver dangle earrings with onyx cab tops and long moving feather dangles. Marked Mexico, 925 for sterling silver quality, with a T for Taxco and partly worn maker letter that looks like "L".  These hyphenated markings were government issued starting in the late 1970s. Marking is likely a worn R and attributed to Melesio Rodriguez who was the long time foreman for The Margot de Taxco/Margot Voorhies shop. If you look at the distinctive small 9 part flowers that are applied to the top you can easily recognize that these are Margot de Taxco earrings. There were only 2 other makers assigned with the 114 maker mark. One was "TC" and the other was "TV" one of which made floral and rose motif jewelr while the other only made stone inlay jewelry. These long shoulder duster earrings are originally from the Margot shot. The onyx cabochon stones are 13mm each, bezel set, well cut, well polished and showy. They have no cracks or damage and are still shiny from the original polishing of the stone. The sterling silver is very thick, strong and durable. Extremely well made as you would find with Margot jewelry. Weight is 22.4 grams. Condition is excellent. No dents or dings, tears or deep scratches to the sterling silver. Some light faint surface age wear only. Clean but not freshly polished out. They are extremely detailed and very, very well-made having deep obvious recesses in the feather/long leaf dangles, textured leaf end that look like cut off twigs, separately hand applied flowers and balls on the edges. This is a lovely beautiful pair of long, showy shoulder duster earrings for your vintage Mexican silver jewelry collection. See below for AI verification.
