Description
Well made by unknown maker this is a vintage 1960s, 1970s mid century modernist design gold tone cat face pin/brooch made with heavy gold tone and rhinestones. Size is 1 5/16″ north to south bu 1″ wide across east to west. The whiskers are thick gold wire, while the face and ears are a mix of round white rhinestones and golden brown topaz color rhinestones. The stones are bezel set and prong set into a very clean bright gold frame, mounting. The back of the pin and the front of the pin are like new, very clean and showy. The bar section of the pinback clasp (which is separate and apart from the cat) has a little age wear, very small, see photo. Other than this the entire cat head is in excellent, like new condition. No wear to the gold. No damage or repair. For anyone who collects cats and kittens this is a lovely mid century example for your vintage collection. Good for lapel, cardigan, or any other decorative use you may have.
