Late mid century 1980s stylized heavily sculptured rose pendant marked 925 and made of sollid solid sterling silver. Marked Mexico 925. Tested and guaranteed solid sterling silver…..not plated. Size measures 1 1/4″ tall north to south including the bail by just about 7/8″ across east to west in diameter. Without the bail the rose is just about 7/8″ tall (same diameter). It is very deep and the rose petals are very robust looking. Depth is 3/8″. The top center has sweeping petals that curve in a circular direction amid a center sterling bead resembling a pinwheel. This center sits in an oxidized finished bowl with triangular edges that have pointed petals curving down and under the petals. This oxidized design became very popular among silver worshops during the 1980s late Mid Century brutalist era in Mexico. The triangles are framed within the lowest layer that consists of 4 semicircles. All handmade construction and very, very creative design. It is very well made with thick, strong, solid sterling silver and a fairly wide bail. Overall condition is excellent. No damage or repair. All original. Never altered. no repair.
