This is an unusually deep ladies vanity or handbag accessories compact in solid sterling silver with a very pretty deeply scalloped design that goes around the top, bottom and body; all separate parts. Late Art Deco to Early Mid Century design. It is marked Sterling and guaranteed solid sterling silver…..not plated. Size of top measures 3″ east to west by 2 1/8″ north to south. Height off the table is 5/8″ tall. Weight is heavy at 99.5 grams. The mirror is approximately 22% of the weight in these old compacts. The top has an Art Deco raised and applied monogram of TW or WT. The inside mirror is broken. Other than this, it is in excellent condition. No dents or dings. No gauges or deep scratches. No tears. All original. Never altered or repaired. It came from an estate many years ago and could use a fresh polishing. This is a very, very pretty box style compact for your vanity and vintage ladies accessories collection. Also good for jewelry and trinkets given its size. As far as vintage sterling compact go this is an unusually large pretty example.
