Large Antique Art Nouveau Jungendstil 1895 to 1910 Gunmetal Sash Chatelaine Pin
This is a lovely large antique Art Nouveau Jungendstil period sash pin or chatelaine pin conversion with bunches of grapes, a whiplash perimeter for which Jungendstil jewelry is well known, and what appears to be oak leaves whipped around the center. Likely made of hardened steel gunmetal which was readily used during this period in order to accommodate the detailing required for the intricate design work of this period. It is not sterling and there are no remnants of silver plating on the front. The back also looks like hardened steel. It came from an estate from many decades ago and has not been touched. The back still has its original antique Victorian Art Nouveau thick C Clasp intact. There are no cracks or splits or tears or breaks. The gunmetal itself has gray and silver color with deep undertones. Overall condition is excellent. No damage or repair. All original. Size measures 2 3/4" wide east to west across the top by 2 1/2" north to south on each side going down the diagonal. This is a lovely original example of original antique Jungendstil jewelry for any antique jewelry collection.

1910s to 1920s Art Deco Nippon Morimura Brothers Hand Painted 3 Legged Dresser Jar Vanity Box
Signed, original, authentic, old mark Nippon, Morimura Brothers letter "M" in wreath mark, covered dresser jar from an estate and in completely original, excellent condition. No cracks, no chips or flakes, no hairlines, minor age wear to the gold only...Last photo shows you the older marking. You know this is authentic as it has delicately painted flowers, the porcelain has a satin finish and the porcelain is fine quality and transparent in lighting.
This is a lovely Nippon vanity covered powder jar or trinket box with its original thick, heavy gold gilt enamel, moriage raised gold balls going around the perimeter and beautifully hand painted pink floral design completely done by one artist's “hand”; not passed down the line where there are different hands doing pink flower, green flower, leaves, perimeter highlights etc.... It also has beautiful long curved legs. Impeccable early hand crafting. Fine quality unglazed bisque. Nice, soft, pretty colors with strong accents. Strong black enameled rectangular early 1920s Art Deco geometric borders. As your rarely see old Nippon Morimura with strong black geometric enameling this jar was possibly a transitional piece to test the waters for future Western targeted Noritake dinnerware which regularly had the strong black outlining in the design.
Condition: Excellent, very gently used. No cracks or chips. No flakes or breaks. No hairline. No repair. No worn paint areas. All heavy gold gilt intact and strong but has some minor age wear. The original softly painted flowers and sharp black trim are still strong, as well.
Measurements: Size is 4 1/8″ across by 3 1/2″ tall north to south.
This is an exceptional estate example of original early 1900s to 1920s Morimura Nippon Jars for your antique and vintage ladies accessories collection. Looks beautiful on any vanity or dresser display.
