Description
Antique Victorian 10k gold or better fancy floral scroll pin with a central pearl accent. eweler tested strongly for 10K and says it is likely a little higher grade than 10K. Guaranteed to be at least solid 10K gold…..NOT plated or filled. Mid to late 1800s Victorian goldsmith handmade pin brooch with its original Victorian C-clasp intact. From an estate many decades ago, all original and has a very old, old, repair on the back that is solid and secure. Other than this it is in excellent condition. It is all handmade the old way by a Victorian era goldsmith and constructed in several separately hand applied sections of flowers, leaves and an intertwined large Victorian gold scroll amid the flowers. Size is 1 7/8″ long East to West by 1/2″ wide North to South in center. The center pearl is slightly larger than 2mm across in diameter. There are no chips or tears on the pin, only light surface wear. The back has a lot of age patina that has not been polished out in at least 50 years. The front top flower and leaves has that beautifully heavy textured gold that you sometimes find on Victorian and early Art Nouveau jewelry. When polished it is sparkly and looks like a gold nugget. Weight is 3.3 grams. Overall, this is a lovely and beautifully detailed antique Victorian pin for your jewelry collection OR take the pin rod off and add 2 loops and chain for a gorgeous Victorian centerpiece necklace.
