This mid-century Danish Brutalist jewelry featuring rose quartz in a pocket watch style frame signed “PWN Denmark” was made by Peter Wilhjelm Nielsen, P.W.N. who was known as a 1960s Modernist artisanal jewelry maker.
This is one of his pieces signed PWN, Denmark. It is a large concave pocket watch shape with a showy gold plated central nugget that holds a 31.75mm long natural pale rose quartz gemstone within the nugget. Width across the stone is 19mm east to west. Shape is mid century 3 sided amorphic cut with rounded edges and is well polished throughout. The stone has natural inclusions which are visible in the photo. These are Inside the stone; not cracks. Size of the pendant is 2 1/2″ north to south including bail by 2 1/8″ wide east to west. It is made of either gold or brass over a silver base metal. You can see a little bit of silver underneath the PWN marking on the back. Other than some minor age wear it is in excellent condition.No dents, dings, gauges or other damage. No repair. All original. The front also has a darkened Brutalist finish blended in with the gold. The back is all plain gold color. Lovely estate find by a known 1960s Scandinavian Danish Modern artisan for your vintage mid century modernist and/or Brutalism collection.
