This is a beautiful Art Deco religious medal pendant or fob charm from The Shrine, Royal Oak, Michigan. From an estate and has much tarnish. Looks like bronze but could be worn plate over bronze. As it is older pendant it is thick, solid, well detailed and well made. The detail is still quite crisp; not worn down. Size is 1 3/16″ tall with the bale by 13/16″ wide across. This medal is strong so it is able to be worn daily. A lovely and unusual addition for your antique vintage religious jewelry collection.

Antique Art Deco 14K White Gold carved shell signed cameo pendant or pin Very fancy 1920s filigree frame with hand applied rosette flowers. Marked and Guaranteed to be solid 14K gold. Excellent Condition. Hinged bail. Good locking clasp. The back has an etched artist signature. Weight is 5.4 grams. The cameo is a very light weight shell and weighs very little. Most of the weight is here is in the gold. She is beautifully carved with fine details: intaglio eye, carved flower, small upturned nose, deep carved hair, flower on dress and a small rounded up facing chin. Large Antique Victorian 10k Gold Spinning Mourning Cameo Pendant Pin Memorial - This is is a large stunning antique Victorian 10K gold carved shell cameo keepsake pendant/pin and it's a SPINNER!! It is all hand made and the cameo is signed with the etched signature of the artist on the back. Looks like it reads "Selz". Size is 2 1/4" from top to bottom by 1 3/4" wide. Depth is just over 3/8" from back to the top of the cameo. The cameo itself is 1 3/16" tall by 1" wide across. Weight is 14.4 grams. The back edge of the cameo has a small surface scratch; Not a crack. The pinback was upgraded to a locking clasp many, many years ago and is excellent; it works well, is strong and secure. The goldsmith did a very good job. The cameo is bezel set with 2 hand applied pins in the frame, thereby, allowing it to spin around freely. There is no back cover but the inside of the back is very deep, almost 3/8" and would be a great conversion for any hair or keepsake or momento if jeweler could add a flat back. There is a lot of gold in this pendant. Or it can just be worn the way it is without the addition of a cover. The cameo LEFT FACING and exquisitely carved with beautiful intricate details.....very fancy carved hair draping down the neck, fancy hairpieces, deep wide open intaglio eyes, sharp crisp pointed nose and mouth, earring. The 10K gold on the front is 3/16" deep in most places, has very fine quality Victorian work with deep engraving amid fancy scrolls. The back has a couple of very minor pinpoint size dings...maybe 1/10 of 1mm....very very tiny and minor. The large size, weight, depth, spinning and carving make this is an absolutely gorgeous and rare Victorian for your antique gold collection or to use as a pendant pin or add a back cover for a spectacular rare memorial item!!

This is a beautiful vintage 1960s large tall fancy solid sterling silver sitting up poodle charm or pendant. Marked Sterling. Size is 1 3/16" tall by almost 1/2" wide across the center of the body. It is very well made of 1 chunk of solid sterling silver. It also very fancy and highly detailed. Beautiful condition. No damage. No tears, dents, or deep scratches to the sterling. The 1950s poodle skirt was a ‘50s favorite, often in white, standing at the hem of the skirt, complete with a curly embroidered or sequin leash. You have heard of Poodle skirts and their association with 1950’s fashion, but you may not know how they originated or the profound influence they have had on women’s fashions since that time. The phenomenon started in 1947 when 25-year-old Juli Charlot needed a skirt to wear to a holiday party in Los Angeles. Because she couldn’t sew, she cut a big circle of felt with a hole in the middle to fit her waist and appliquéd Christmas trees to it. Felt was the only material available that was wide enough to cut a complete circle skirt without any seams. The skirt was a huge hit. A week after the party she sold the skirt to raise money to go to design school and learn how to sew. Eventually as demand for her skirts grew, she opened her own factory. Although she continued to get orders, money was tight. Then a New York designer visited her factory, found her in tears, and invested enough money for the business to take off.TYPES:
Although many appliqué designs were used on the skirts, it was the elegant, well groomed Poodle with a swirly leash that proved to be the most popular. In fact circular skirts with other designs were often called Poodle skirts. The full skirt was a welcome change from the straight or pleated below the knee skirts that were worn by young girls and women of the day. Poodle skirts were worn with flirty petticoats and a wide cinch belt. The skirt looked cute on young girls, but pretty silly on their mothers and grandmothers. In other words Poodle skirts were one of the first “too young for you” fashions. From that time on, seeing a youth market with money to spend, many designers worked exclusively on clothing geared to the young.References:

Antique late Victorian to early Art Deco 10K yellow gold natural carved shell cameo pendant with its original round hinged antique bale for a necklace. This is an early one that is very intricately and beautifully carved and has pearls applied to the handmade 10K gold frame. It is marked 10K on the bale and is thoroughly jeweler tested and guaranteed to be solid 10K yellow gold. It is from an estate and all parts are original. It has a very, very tiny 1/4mm cut on the the sides of one pearl that is not eye obvious. Must look for it with a loupe. Probably from the removal of a pin rod many years ago. Other than this it is excellent. The lady portrait is exquisitely carved with fine crisp details and good, strong depth. Amid her hair is an unusual carved cap. Size is just about 1 1/2" tall north to south with the bale by 7/8" wide across. Weight is 4.8 grams. This is a gorgeous antique Victorian gold cameo pendant for your collection.
