Early Art Deco 1920s camphor glass pendant necklace with fancy filigree open work and millgrain work throughout. Marked sterling on both the pendant and the chain. The camphor glass is deeply carved on the back in a sunburst. The front holds its old original European cushion cut stone that looks like a diamond. It measures 3m across approximately .12 carat and is hand riveted with a bezel from the back the old way so you know it is original. ,Total length is 19 3/4″ long. Pendant is 1 7/8″ tall north to south by 1 18″ wide across east to west. It came from an estate many years ago where it was kept in original excellent overall condition. No damage or repair. All of the filigree is intact. All of the millgrain is good and well defined. Not worn down. The camphor glass is good all the way around. No chips or breaks or flakes or scratches. The sterling chain is a later addition and also excellent condition. The center stone is very bright white and noticeable. The pendant will need polishing as it has a lot of age patina that has not been polished out. Purchased in the 1970s directly from the original owner’s estate this is a lovely addition for your antique and vintage jewelry collection.
