This is an antique Victorian 1887 seated liberty love token dime with fancy engraved flowers on the front. Made of 900 coin silver. The love token is an original coin that was flattened on one side and then hand engraved with either the date, initials or something symbolic by the giver. Most popular during the Victorian era. It has a secure bale on the top that is hand applied. Size is 11/16″ wide across in diameter. It is from an estate and has not been cleaned. Excellent Condition. No dents or dings. A lovely Victorian keepsake for your watch chain necklace or charm bracelet.

The 1950s poodle skirt was a ‘50s favorite, often in white, standing at the hem of the skirt, complete with a curly embroidered or sequin leash. Even more decorations came in the form of the large applique cats, squirrels, guitars, or catchy phrases like “See You Later Alligator.” The poodle skirt became a lasting icon of the 1950s especially for teenagers but women wore them too with more mature appliques such as the Eiffel tower, telephone, and martinis.ORIGIN:
You have heard of Poodle skirts and their association with 1950’s fashion, but you may not know how they originated or the profound influence they have had on women’s fashions since that time. The phenomenon started in 1947 when 25-year-old Juli Charlot needed a skirt to wear to a holiday party in Los Angeles. Because she couldn’t sew, she cut a big circle of felt with a hole in the middle to fit her waist and appliquéd Christmas trees to it. Felt was the only material available that was wide enough to cut a complete circle skirt without any seams. The skirt was a huge hit. A week after the party she sold the skirt to raise money to go to design school and learn how to sew. Eventually as demand for her skirts grew, she opened her own factory. Although she continued to get orders, money was tight. Then a New York designer visited her factory, found her in tears, and invested enough money for the business to take off.TYPES:
Although many appliqué designs were used on the skirts, it was the elegant, well groomed Poodle with a swirly leash that proved to be the most popular. In fact circular skirts with other designs were often called Poodle skirts. The full skirt was a welcome change from the straight or pleated below the knee skirts that were worn by young girls and women of the day. Poodle skirts were worn with flirty petticoats and a wide cinch belt. The skirt looked cute on young girls, but pretty silly on their mothers and grandmothers. In other words Poodle skirts were one of the first “too young for you” fashions. From that time on, seeing a youth market with money to spend, many designers worked exclusively on clothing geared to the young.References:

This is a 1930s Art Deco sterling silver clacking bell charm or fob with a French Guilloche enameled flower front. It is been tested and is guaranteed to be solid sterling silver. Size is 7/16" tall without the spiral loop ring at the top. Width is 1/2" across. Condition is excellent. No damage. No wear to the enameling. Well made with a good strong clacker. Vintage Art Deco 14k Yellow Gold Folding Cooker Charm Hot Dogs Barbeque
This is a vintage hand made Art Deco 14K yellow and gold filigree outdoor cooker charm with hot dogs. The hot dogs are 14K rose gold and the rest of the charm is 14K yellow gold. It came from an old antique Art Deco bracelet that held 1930s-50s era charms. Tested and guaranteed to be solid 14K gold. Lift the small round link upwards and the cooker unfolds to reveal the hot dogs on the grill. Condition is excellent, gently used. In the closed position the size is 3/4" tall WITHOUT the bale. Width is 5/16". When open it is 1 1/8" long. This is a very unusual hand made vintage charm to find for your bracelet.

Small Antique Hallmarked 9k Gold Ruby Infant Charm Ring
For sale is a small Victorian to Art Deco 9K ruby ring miniature charm. The charm is in original condition with almost no surface wear at all. The interior of the ring is marked 333, which is the European standard for 9K gold. The ring measures 3/8 of an inch in diameter, and the natural mined ruby is roughly 2mm across. This is a beautiful Victorian charm ring which would make for an unusual gift or an interesting addition to a charm bracelet.
