Antique Victorian 14K Gold Red Coral Dangle Pin Or Repurpose

This is an antique Victorian 14K yellow gold, natural Mediterranean coral dangle pin with deep solid salmon red color, a little deeper richer red than photo. It has a little file notch on the back and is jeweler tested and Guaranteed to be solid 14K gold…….Not plated or filled. The original Victorian C-Clasp in the back. The hinge was upgraded probably in the 1920s and there is a silvers solder connection that is visible at the hinge. The front has a lovely fancy repoussed scroll border that is is deeply recessed and well detailed on the top and bottom. The larger piece of original red coral is encased in a thick gold wrap which is accented by a classic Victorian 3 clover cap that flows up from the back to meet the encasement. Dangling from the bottom repousse border there are 2 unusual red coral beads; one is closed and one has a carved edge and open bottom. Condition is excellent, very gently used. No dents or dings. No damage. No wear to the gold. Size is 1 1/2″ tall by 1″ wide. Weight is 7.1 grams. If you don't wear pins, just add a bail and this will look gorgeous repurposed into a necklace centerpiece!!!
