This is a stunning Antique Victorian 14K Gold Amethyst Rose Diamond Navette Ring. It is a late Victorian to early Edwardian, solid 14K yellow gold, large, long ring which has its original natural amethyst gemstone and rose cut diamonds. Although large, it is beautiful and not overpowering. It is jeweler tested and guaranteed to be solid 14k gold and original antique late 1800s. Ring size is 4 1/2. This is one way you know it is antique Victorian because the ring size is small as women were very small framed back then. Yet, in true Victorian fashion the top is large and very showy. The top measures 1″ long by 1/2″ wide. Weight is 3.9 grams
It holds a large 17mm long natural amethyst and 18 gorgeous antique rose and early cushion cut diamonds. Most are rose cuts. Total carat weight is approximately 4.74 carats with the amethyst being 4 carats and the diamonds being .74 carat. The amethyst has beautiful purple color with pink/fuschia highlights in lighting. The diamonds are SI1-2 clarity with average H/I/J color. They are quite bright and sparkly. The amethyst has superior deep purple color where you can actually see the glow inside the stone when it is on the finger. It sparkles nicely. A couple of the photos captured the pink highlights.
The bezel frame has a little bend to fit the stone. However, this is probably from the hand making. The setting is very well made and the band is still thick enough to so it is able to be used regularly. Condition is excellent. There are no dents or dings or deep scratches. The amethyst is excellent having no abrasions, cracks or chip. Clean, better quality deep color and original. In addition there are No inclusions or worn facets. Diamonds are beautiful old original rose cuts.
