Antique Sterling Silver Amethyst Glass Tall Candlesticks estate glass. Beautiful early true amethyst glass antique Victorian tall candlesticks with sterling silver overlay for formal dining table. The insides are early open bell shaped; very deep. Size is 10.12″ tall north to south by 6.12″ wide across the bottom east to west. The top of each measures 2 7/8″ across the hexagon. Weight is 8lbs. The silver overlay is a mix of floral and flourishes that cover the base of the body all the way around. There is also some overlay around the top hexagonal border. Curvy half heart handles comprise the sides for easy movement when lit with candles. The glass is quite thick and strong. These are not black amethyst. They are earlier having a more transparent amethyst color with a hint of cranberry. They are completely original condition having some light age wear to the silvering which could be easily touched up. No sickness or wear marks to the glass. No chips or flakes or nicks or cracks or any other damage. No repair or modifications of any kind. They are from a one family intergenerational estate and were very well kept over the years. Not easy to find, this is a gorgeous pair of tall early silver overlay candlesticks to light up any dining table you may have.
