Antique GF Waltham Hunter Case Necklace Pocketwatch Working
This is a lovely fancy engraved antique gold filled/gold plated American Waltham Co Pocketwatch with a vintage pocketwatch hook chain necklace. The front and back have fancy hand engraved floral design. Never monogrammed or inscribed. The edges are fancy repousse work. The chain is a fancy barrel link 1960s vintage addition that is heavy gold plated and in excellent condition. The oversized ring is brass and antique. The watch is original with all of the gold intact and working. It was wound on several occasions and kept good time for at least 10 hours. It is marked American Waltham Watch Co,, Safety Barrel, #8000598 on the mechanism. The edge of the case is marked Pat Dec.7, ’86. Back case is marked CWC Co, Planet, Trademark with the star crescent moon logo and # 590467. Mid case is also marked with the matching # 590467. Everything matches so you know it is in completely original condition. From a 1 family estate and was kept in lovely condition all these years. The face is also excellent as is the crystal and all of the gold. There is some age patina which has not been polished out and some light surface age scratches. It has that look and soft feel of aged gold. Size of watch is 2 3/8″ tall including the swivel bale by a little over 1 5/8″ wide across the center. Total size with chain is 21 1/8″. It hangs just below the neck and is easy to wear as the chain is a rolling chain. This is a beautiful antique working pocketwatch necklace for your antique gold jewelry collection!
