14K Gold Opal Emerald Sapphire Enamel Peacock Pendant Pin with a diamond in the center top. Vintage Estate Find. It is marked, tested, and Guaranteed Solid 14K Yellow Gold. It is large, heavy, magnificently decorated, hand jeweled, hand enameled and in completely original condition. It is also Very Well Made with strong, intricate detail and thick filigree open work. Of particular attraction is the enamel work that goes straight through the open spaces in the filigree so that the colors are visible on Both Sides like stained glass. Rarely does one see the matching enamel work on the back as well as the front. The top has a thick hinged hidden bail on the back and a strong locking clasp. Size is 1 7/8 inches by 1 5/8 inches. Weight is 15 grams. Total carat gemstone weight is approximately 2.45 carats. The Australian opals are older, natural mined, and have Much Better colors than the photo captured. Lots of greens, aquas, teals, and some peaches. They graduate in size from 2mm and 3mm round at the bottom to 6mm oval at the top center. Framing the enameled perimeter are natural sapphires, emeralds, and a top center diamond. The diamond is .08 carat, bright and sparkly. The emeralds are true Irish Emerald green color and semi translucent, average quality with natural internal inclusions. The sapphires have more translucence and are cornflower blue color. They are also average quality and have some natural internal inclusions. All of the gemstones are good; no open cracks or chips or flakes or breaks. Any inclusions are natural, internal, and Not eye visible. The enamel work is strong and all intact. No wear spots. Some of the enameling around the sapphire and emerald settings has small internal hairlines which are likely from the original making. This is only where the enamling meets the mountings. Only found with a loupe and are NOT eye visible At All. There is no damage or wear or repair to the gold. All filigree is perfect. Overall condition is completely original and excellent. Having beautiful hand workmanship and fully decorated with brilliant enameling and lots of gemstones this is a wonderful vintage statement pendant pin for your collection.
