1960s 1970s Arthur Pepper ART Co. Antique French Finish Silver Plated Filagree Miniature Purse Coin Locket Solid Perfume
Beautiful, hardly every used condition......This is a lovely example of the 1960s to 1970s Arthur Pepper ART Co. of NYC miniature fancy filigree miniature purse pendant for coins, paper money, solid perfume, keepsake locket (hair, photos or other momentos). It is made of very, very thick silver plate over silver metal color with a dark antique French or Russian finish which was very popular at the time and used by many other makers of the same era (Goldette, Hollycraft, Florenz, Hattie Carnegie etc…) It has the strong “kiss lock” for which ART is well-known and it is also fully functioning. The purse opens completely and the handle swivels completely rolling over the lock and then down each side. Overall condition is excellent. Size of the purse when closed measures 2 3/16" north to south including the top bail by 1 1/2" wide across the purse body east to west. Depth is 3/8" front to back on the purse body. No damage or repair. No wear to the silver at all. Zero wear , does not appear to have been used much at all. Both the front and back are identical with a lovely Victorian Revival blown out design along with the fancy filigree which is completely intact. The hinged base is also strong and secure. This is one of the best examples of vintage mid century ART Victorian Revival jewelry for your and vintage jewelry ladies accessories collection. Add any long chain and it will make a beautiful showy dangle necklace.
