This is a lovely small antique sterling silver basket for table serving but could also be used as a flower girl basket by tying the flowers into the handles. Indicative of the 1890s to 1920 it is beautifully articulated with an early Art Deco geometric square rectangle design amid the raised fancy floral wreath style leaves and flower tops in the raised circles. You can actually see the transitioning from fanciful Art Nouveau ornamentation to more defined Art Deco geometrics in this piece. Likely one of Jennings Silver earliest work from the teens. Size is 7″ across the handle by 6″ diameter across the circular dish in any direction.Height is 3 1/4″ tall north to south. Weight is 124.73 grams. It was purchased from an estate many years ago and other than needing a good polishing it is in excellent overall condition. The center has a letter N monogram. There are no dents, no tears, no deep gauges or repair. Just some light surface wear. All original. It was put away and never used for many, many decades. A lovely handled basket for your formal dining table on any occasion.
