Vintage Art Deco Germany Gold Sterling Silver Carved Black Rose Lapel Pin Size LARGE
This is a lovely large German antique vintage Art Deco (1930s 1940s) gold over sterling silver hand carved and hand colored ivory or bone long stemmed roses pin in excellent condition. Made of pre ban ivory/bone and pre World War 2. It is marked Sterling, Germany with a letter “M” in a square maker mark. The carved roses are very beautifully detailed and very deeply recessed with good, strong, showy depth at 3/8″. Pin size is large and measures 3″ long by about 1″ across the uppermost top rose and 1 3/8″ East to West across the center leaves. It is very well made the old way with the roses being hand screwed into small silver plaquettes on the back and being handmade. It is from an estate and in excellent, gently used, original condition. The only age wear is on the edges and easily touched up with any black nail polish or paint. This is only noticeable in the enlarged photos and not very obvious when worn on a lapel. It is very well made with a good strong locking clasp and strong application of the top to the back. This is a beautiful Art Deco fancy long stemmed ivory rose pin for your jewelry collection.
