Ornate Vintage International Sterling Silver Tongs Fish Balls Sugar Pastry – Estate Antique Silver Serving Flatware Very ornate early vintage 1920s early International Sterling Silver tongs with 3 carved lobster tines on the tips. There is a small fancy script monogram on one side. Pattern is fancy and the carved tines look like lobster shells are most unusual. They are very strong, solid, sturdy and extremely well made having early International hallmarks, sterling and 1920s date. Guaranteed to be solid sterling silver. They are thick and don’t bend so they will retain their form without denting. They also have a good spring back which is an indicator of higher quality silversmithing. Size is also medium to large at almost 4 1/2″ long. This size tong is commonly used as a server for delicate foods like hors d’ouevres, fish balls, pastries or other fine foods. Width across the clawed tip is 5/8″ across. Width across the handle is 9/16″ at the top tapering down to over 1/8″ at the bottom. Condition is excellent, original, No damage or repair. Never altered or modified. No dents or dings. No tears.
