Early Vintage Mexican Sterling Silver Amethyst Cabochon Ring Mens Womens – This is a late Art Deco to very early Mid Century (1930s-1940s) Mexican Sterling Silver estate ring with a large, tall, original amethyst quartz gemstone in the center. It is handmade with large early deep punch marks that read TAXCO, 925. It is also tested and Guaranteed solid sterling silver. Indicative of its age, the amethyst quartz cabochon is 7mm tall (over 1/4″). Ring size is 10. Size of top front is 3/4″ north to south by just about 7/8″ shoulder to shoulder east to west. Weight is heavy at 18.5 grams. The amethyst measures 19mm x 11mm x 7mm. This is a very large, chunky ring. These purple to white amethyst stones have natural clouding and inclusions as they are amethyst quartz and were usually used in early Mexican jewelry so you know it is original. There is some age wear to the stone particularly on one side which has a long abrasion. Other than this the ring is in excellent condition. No dents, dings, gauges, or tears to the sterling.
