Antique 1903 Lunt Sterling Silver Tongs Sugar Candy Bon Bon Pastry – This is an antique turn of the century flatware sterling silver tongs server dated 1903 with matching hallmarks for this date. Made by Lunt, Rogers and Bowlen. The RLB hallmark was discontinued in 1935. This Edwardian Era cartouche pattern predates 1920 so the 1903 year date on this tong is likely the actual date of manufacture. They are also stamped sterling. The tips have 5 curved graduated tines and the cartouches were never monogammed or inscribed. They also have good spring back which is an indicator of higher quality silversmithing. Size is 4 1/4″ long. This size tong is commonly used as a server for sugar, delicate foods like hors d’ouevres, cookies, candies, bon bon, light pastries or other fine light foods. Width across the handle cartouch is 9/16″. Width across the bottom is 1/8″. Width across the clawed tip is 1/2″. They have surface age wear scratches that could be professionally polished out. No deep scratches. Overall excellent condition. Completely original, No damage or repair. Never altered or modified. No dents or dings. No tears.
