Antique Victorian Blue Banded Scottish Agate Pin Ladies Kilt Brooch - A lovely late 1800s Victorian ladies kilt pin with beautiful blue banded Scottish agate in completely original, excellent condition. Size is 1 7/8" east to west by 7/8" tall north to south from the top of the crown to the bottom point. Weight is 4.3 grams. The front is made with small cut banded agate mosaic slabs whereby each piece has strong showy banding. There is a crown at the top and a cross formation in the center of the agate window. Surrounding the agate is a fancy shield/family crest that is all hand chased. This sits atop a matching Victorian bar pin that is also hand chased with matching design. The back is very ornate with detailed recessed design to match the front. The original Victorian C clasp is a little crooked from age but still intact and secure. Condition is excellent. Mid to late 1800s antique Victorian solid 14K rose gold chunky mens seal ring with a beautifully carved banded agate wax seal intaglio. It is jeweler tested and Guaranteed solid 14K rose gold....Not plated or filled. The top measures 13/16" north to south by 5/8" wide east to west x 5/16" deep top to bottom. The band is a full 1/4" wide and still thick, not worn down. It had a prior resize that still very strong and secure. Will hold for many decades to come. The bezel setting is very well made with a solid back that has no dents or dings or scratches. The sides are hand chased with tiny Victorian millgrain style cut edges. Either during the making or at some point down the line one corner edge of the agate was polished down and beveled. This could have been done to accommodate the original owner's choice of the large intaglio on the top. It does not detract when the ring is worn on the finger. The hand crafting, gold smith work on this ring is very high quality. Strong, durable, well chased and well set. It is from the estate of the original owner and was kept in excellent condition. No dents or dings. No deep scratches, gauges or tears. No gold repair. The only alteration is the old resize. This is a gorgeous chunky very well-made mens ring for your antique Victorian gold jewelry collection or wax sealing.
